Julie Wright is a nurse, around the clock, at home and at work.
Night and day, Wright tends to the ailments and disabilities of those she barely knows as well as those she loves dearly. She works 12-hour shifts at the Hermann Area District Hospital and lives with her two daughters, 13-year-old Alicia, and 15-year-old Amy and her husband Gerald Wright. Alicia was born with Spina Bifida and is confined to a wheelchair. Without movement in her lower body Alicia requires her mother's help even on basic tasks.
"It's almost like a stress relief to come to work and get away from the hustle and bustle of the house," Wright said. Yet even with her busy life Wright sees Hermann as the ideal place for her daughters.
