Yellow curls, a riot of polka dots and loud clashing colors drape 38 year old Vernon Kohlbusch. A clown outfit is just one of the many costumes Vernon wears as he performs volunteer work throughout Hermann. When he's not working the night shift at a New Haven factory, he's doing playground duty at the elementary school. After a long night at work the love and recognition he recieves from the kids is very rewarding. Venon also sings kareoke at the local retirement home and directs traffic at the afterschool crossing. His day ends at home with his 74 year old mother, Martha, with whom he lives. These quiet times at home contrast with the bustle of passing cars and excited children
