One by one, businesses in downtown Louisiana, Missouri, closed their doors as Wal-Mart opened theirs in the early 1980's. But before the downtown area could become a footnote to the town's history, one business owner is intent on bringing back the seven block area of Georgia Street known as "downtown".

Entrepreneur Karen Stoeckley drives her vision of downtown success through her Eagle's Nest; a bed and breakfast, bistro and winery/gift shop. Stoeckley has purchased four buildings and is renovating them for $1.2 Million.

Stoeckley brings a special energy to Louisiana. "I don't want to be Starbucks," she said. "I want to be unique."
