At the age of fifty-seven, born-again Christian Jim Davis has left his hometown of St. Louis, Mo. He has come alone to Louisiana with the goal of renovating a downtown storefront into an ice cream parlor and cafÌ.

This is a story about one man's struggle to realize a vision for himself and his newly adopted town. It is a story of a man who relives his salvation through Christ in rebar and concrete, hammer and nail.
