"There's only so many things I can do at the office," says Wally, who retreats daily to his home office to work on more complicated legal papers. Still, in the quiet of his home, a police radio crackles in the background. His home, modest from all appearances in front, expands into a deep backyard that contains a large fishpond complete with fountain and a deck overlooking the tranquil setting. "This is my haven," Wally says.
