Dr. Eugene Johnson has worked as a veterinarian in Platte City, Missouri since 1995. In 2008, he launched a mobile vet clinic with which he travels to his clients’ homes with his loyal dog Squirt.
“When I started this I thought I’d be working with a lot of large animals, but nowadays all I really see are house pets.” As Platte City gradually changed from an agricultural region to a suburban area, so has the region’s animal population, and Dr. Johnson has adapted to this evolving situa-tion.
His clients call him for many reasons: lack of mobility, to reduce stress on the animal, or for convenience, but overwhelmingly, most clients answer that they call Dr. Johnson simply be-cause they love and trust him.
