The two hope same-sex marriage will pass at the federal level in their lifetime. Marriage is "not just a paper," Kaz stresses. They have no plans on leaving the state to exchange vows. "If it's not legal in our state, it is not worth it," says Kaz. Although, if the time comes when they could marry, Con says she would take Kaz's last name. "It's a pipe dream but pipe dreams do come true with some patience," says Con.
