Churches dot the landscape of the "Twin Cities," Festus and Crystal City Missouri, to the point that is uncommon to drive a block without seeing a place of worship. Church bells routinely ring across the city, constantly reminding citizens of their faith.

"There are a lot of churches here," says Rev. Joseph Wormek, the pastor at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish in Festus. "Faith and religion are something very evident in the community."

With the roots of religion running back to the beginning communities, it is hard for any citizen to imagine the community without the influences of faith present. The roots run deep and are a part of the identity of the community; the evidence of faith becomes evident in the daily life of citizens in the "Twin Cities."
