The Caregiver - Marty Kuehn - is a 73-year-old woman living in Crystal City, Mo., who drives daily to the Festus Manor, a medical care facility, to visit Lena, her daughter. Lena is terminally ill with cancer and due to extended bed rest developed gangrene in her right leg, which forced doctors to amputate it below the knee. Both physically and emotionally Lena is in pain, but with her mother’s constant support she maintains a balance that gets her through each day.

When Marty is not giving care she rests at home and enjoys the quiet time that helps her regroup. Marty has two dogs that keep her company and receive every bit as much love as the people in her life.

Marty demonstrates unfailing love for everyone she encounters. Despite extreme tragedy in her life, compassion and a loving fire is seen in her eyes both in joyful moments and in painful ones. Everyday she looks forward, looks for hope, and embraces her faith in the Lord to keep her positive perspective.
