After school April sits in her bedroom to complete her homework. Although she often distracts herself from studying, April's dream is to become a juvenile lawyer after witnessing the troubles of her friends with the law and of another brother living in Alabama. About him, she believes he would be better off at the war front in Iraq than living the troubled and hopeless life he leads back in Alabama.
