"When
Love Finds No Home" |

Jerry
Heileman and Nicky Turner are just out of high school, just about broke,
the parents of 3-month-old twins, not yet married, but in love. Jerry
is white. Nicky is black. Their families don’t like the love these
two share. Jerry’s stepfather kicked him out of the house for the
second time a month ago because, says Jerry, he despises interracial relationships.
Jerry spends his days with Nicky and their two sons, Jashon and Jadis. When Nicky’s parents and grandmother return, Jerry hits the road to stay either in a friend’s hotel room or in his car. Jerry has no job, no plates on his car, and a history of drug abuse and arrests. Jerry and Nicky say they can’t wait to get married and move into a new home together far from Williamsburg, Missouri. |
