Story Summary

After wanting to serve her country for most of her life, Jacinda O’Dell, 19, has just been accepted to the Delayed Entry Program for the United States Marine Corps. Her path has been marred with adversity, most notably her older brother Quintin’s conviction on charges of first-degree murder and assault. Jacinda, a lifelong Platte City, Missouri resident, is working to fulfill her childhood dream and to create her own identity- one that separates her from her brother’s crimes.
