  • Macon Police Captain Jeff Brown’s commitment to helping the community doesn’t end when he’s off duty. Jeff Brown is a single parent to his 11-year old son, Caleb, and has been a foster parent to 30-40 kids over the last seven years. “Kids are our future,” he said. “I like the idea of trying to build them up a little bit and give them a good place to stay and hopefully advise them so they make better decisions in life later on.” Friends and neighbors often reach out to brown as well. When his friend Louie has trouble making ends meet, Brown gives him odd jobs around the house. He often counsels friends with relationship problems. “A lot of people do choose to come to me if they need some help. And I appreciate that and I’m glad I’m approachable,” he said.
