  • At 23 years old, Nathan Gorman is his own boss. He took over the barbershop on Bourke street in 2006, when he was just 19 years old. After moving to Macon and spending a year in community college, Nate heard that Jerry Brumback, the old barber on Bourke street was looking to retire. The decision to go to barber school started Nate down the path to business ownership.

Four years later Nate's Barbershop is a fixture on Bourke St. in the town of Macon, Missouri. A steady current of customers flow into the shop throughout the day for ten dollar haircut. These patrons come for a good haircut and good company. Nate is is known to provide both. "Nathan is a great barber and a fine young man," said Bud Adkins, a customer who regularly drives from Atlanta for his haircuts.

Nate Gorman (blue t-shirt), the owner of Nate's Barbershop, chats with his friends on Thursday about business and his new motorcycle, which he parks right in front of the shop everyday.
