Ray's Tire is as unique to St. James as the man who owns it. In operation for more than thrity years, the shop is more than just a small business, it is
a community institution. One of Ray's customers summed it up best. "Ray's ain't just a tire shop, it's a clearing house for all things. You come here for town gosssip, to trade something, or just to shoot the breeze. Anybody who's anybody is there in the morning." Men Work on trailer that has just arrived for service. Large trucks and semis can be an especially gruelling job for a tire man.
