  • Joe Singer, 76, and his wife, Dorothy, 78, take much pride in knowing that their business Singer Locker Services literally helps the community grow.

For 53 years the couple, along with the help of several dedicated employees made up mostly of family members, have been in the business of processing meat, which pound after pound, feeds the residents of Chillicothe and beyond.

Each day they spend 10 to 12 hours together until the job is done. Although it’s hard work, there’s no retirement on the horizon for Joe and Dorothy. “As long as the good Lord gives me the ability, I will continue,” says Joe.

As the sun peaks over the horizon, Joe Singer, owner of Singer Locker Services, arrives at his place of business on a typical early morning.
